International Women’s Day

Hello everyone!
Today is international Women’s Day!
I think the most inspiring women would be Susan B Anthony, Florence Nightingale, Amelia Earhart or Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan
Why
Susan B Anthony was a prominent American civil rights leader who played a pivotal role in the 19th century women’s rights movement to introduce women’s suffrage into the United States. She was co-founder of the first Women’s Temperance Movement with Elizabeth Cady Stanton as President. Without Susan women will still not be allowed to vote.

Florence Nightingale was a celebrated English nurse, writer and statistician. She came to prominence for her pioneering work in nursing during the Crimean War, where she tended to wounded soldiers. She was dubbed “The Lady with the Lamp” after her habit of making rounds at night. An Anglican, Nightingale believed that God had called her to be a nurse.

Nightingale laid the foundation of professional nursing with the establishment, in 1860, of her nursing school at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, the first secular nursing school in the world, now part of King’s College London. The Nightingale Pledge taken by new nurses was named in her honour, and the annual International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world on her birthday.

Helen Keller had the Scarlet fever when she was 5. When she was better she was blind and death. her parents hired a young nanny whose name was Anne Sullivan. Anne was an American teacher best known as the instructor and companion of Helen Keller. She encouraged Helen to try and communicate this is one of her famous quotes “Keep on beginning and failing. Each time you fail, start all over again, and you will grow stronger until you have accomplished a purpose – not the one you began with perhaps, but one you’ll be glad to remember.” and Helen was able to communicate again.
I hope you learnt more about great women.

The Bridge

On the holidays I went horse riding alot.
When I went horseriding the river was overflowing so we had to check the bridge.
On the first day we couldn’t see the bridge because of the river.
On the second day the bridge was broken and the river sunck only 5 meters down.
So we had to fix the bridge.
On of the planks came off so we used a spare the spare was very wet and mucky and we all got dirty at the end. when that was done we had to jumped all the way across the bridge. and it worked! the bridge has been there for over 80 years but it is very strong it can hold 28 horses at a time. Now I feel like fixing the bridge again!
